Division Director (Joint Global Change Research Institute, PNNL)

We are pleased to share with you an exciting opportunity to lead the Joint Global Change Research Institute (JGCRI), a partnership between the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and the University of Maryland (UMD). Supervising a world-class team of researchers, the division director will manage steady growth at JGCRI, lead the strategic direction, and serve as chief spokesperson and advocate for work within PNNL, the Department of Energy, UMD, and other stakeholders, sponsors, and research communities.

You are invited to apply.

JGCRI has been raised to the level of a research division within PNNL’s Earth and Biological Systems Directorate. We are excited to see this new division grow to meet research demands in a developing and highly innovative area of science-informed policy.

We are searching for a top candidate to lead JGCRI as its division director and build on the institute’s leadership in specialized interdisciplinary research, modeling, and integrated analyses at the interface of human, energy, and environmental systems. Our JGCRI staff has developed the Global Change Analysis Model (GCAM) and advised at key global climate discussions (e.g., the United Nations Climate Change Conference). JGCRI research advances our fundamental understanding of human and Earth systems and provides decision-relevant information for management of emerging global risks and opportunities.

Questions can be directed to our Talent Acquisition team, at careers@pnnl.gov. We would very much like to consider you as a candidate to join our team.
