Working Group Co-Chairs

Stuart Cohen, Co-Chair
National Renewable Energy Laboratory

Dr. Cohen is a senior researcher in energy systems modeling and analysis at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. His research links energy models with climate, water, and economy-wide modeling and analysis to understand complex multisector, multiscale challenges faced by society. His work is based in large-scale optimization modeling and creating multimodel frameworks that can answer MSD science questions related to energy transitions and beyond.

Marshall Wise, Co-Chair
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

Mr. Wise’s research focuses on multisector analysis of energy, agriculture, and economic systems. Since joining the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) 1990, he has built integrated models and performed research in several areas including electric power systems, bioenergy, land use, and carbon emissions. He currently serves as PI for the Global Change Intersectoral Modeling System (GCIMS) program sponsored by the US DOE Office of Science, a collaboration between PNNL and other national laboratories and universities studying the MSD implications of human and earth systems.
