Assistant Professor – Economics and the Environment – Energy and Resources Group [UC Berkeley]

The Energy and Resources Group (ERG) at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor nine-month faculty position, in the area of economics and the environment.

ERG is a graduate group within the Rausser College of Natural Resources with a teaching and research mission motivated by a sustainable environment and a just society. Its faculty and students embrace the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to address society’s most complex problems, and collaborative research that goes beyond traditional disciplinary domains is encouraged and nurtured.

In keeping with the ERG mission, while this proposed position is fundamentally about economics and the environment, it is broader than the discipline of economics alone, and may go beyond what is conventionally understood to be “environmental economics”. ERG’s interest is in a junior scholar anchored in economics.

Potential topics of research could include: remote sensing, data science, climate economics, water, path dependencies, energy systems, or just transitions.
